Tryst is the annual science and technology festival of the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. It is held every year towards the end of February, and over the years, it has emerged as one of the biggest festivals of its kind in India. Every year, collegiate students from various parts of the country attend this technical extravaganza, in an atmosphere which makes them learn and unlearn through an application-oriented approach. It acts as a platform for them to showcase their technological and engineering prowess and nourishes growing scientific talent. The popularity of the festival is evinced by the fact that thousands of students from the Indian Institutes of Technology, National Institutes of Technology, and various engineering and science colleges from all over the country. Robotics, computing and programming events, designing, electronics and a series of workshops and lectures by eminent personalities are synonymous with the festival. But from 2009, the pattern of tryst has been changed, and this time it was organised only by freshers, and no senior was involved in any of the administrative and other tasks. There was no external participation, in the events.
